Title:
KNIT OR WOVEN FABRIC HAVING OPEN HOLE AND TOOL FOR OPENING HOLE ON KNIT OR WOVEN FABRIC
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02229265
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a knit or woven fabric having a hole with improved durability against the stress applied to the circumference of the hole when formed into a composite material and used in a state connected to other part by opening a hole on a knit or woven fabric without breaking the yarn of the fabric using a tapered opening tool having noncircular cross-section and free from edge.

CONSTITUTION: The opening tool to be used in the present process has an opening part 3 extending in tapered state in axial direction and free from edge. The cross-section of the tool with a plane crossing perpendicular to the axis has non-uniform distance between the rotational center 5 and the circumference. The opening tool is fixed to a drilling machine or an electric drill and a hole is opened on a fabric by inserting the tool through the fabric in a direction perpendicular to the warp Z extending in the longitudinal direction of the fabric. Yarns constituting the fabric are flexed along the circumference of the hole without breakage and the density of the yarns around the hole is made to be higher than the other part.
