To provide a knob for opening or closing a toilet seat which eliminates the disturbing of discharging with easier opening or closing operation and achieve a very simpler and easier work of newly installing, removing, moving or the like of a knob by making the length of the knob larger during the use period and shorter during the unuse period while preventing the knob from being polluted in a peripheral environment.
A knob for opening or closing a toilet seat of a Western style toilet has a mounting shaft 4 comprising a mounting part 5 and a core shaft 6 following it, a grip handle 7 which is prevented from being slipped off by a lock ring 11 that is combined to be rotatable about the core shaft 6 to be inserted across a circumferential groove 9 carved into an inner circumferential surface and a circumferential groove 10 carved into an outer circumferential surface of the core shaft 6 and a large diameter flange 8 formed at an end part on the side closer to the mounting part 5. The width of the circumferential groove is made expandable.
