PURPOSE: To provide a low-cost machine for the preparation of "koji", wherein the charging, treating, stirring and discharging of the malt can be easily performed.
CONSTITUTION: Raw materials of "koji" fed to the malting bed 7 through a charging chute 54, are levelled to a desired shape by a charging-, treating- and stirring-device 50 which traverses on the rails 48 and 49. Air humidified by a humidifier is supplied to the chambers 25 and passed through the "koji" layer on the malting bed 7. The malting bed is transferred intermittently or continuously, at a speed suitable to the malting conditions, from the "A" position to the "B" position. At the predetermined places between "A" and "B", the "koji" is treated or stirred by the device 50. The produced "koji" is discharged at the end of the conveyor through a discharging shute 35 to a convayor 36.
