A suction drum 5 is provided with a plurality of suction heads 9. Each of the suction heads 9 is provided with a label suction pad 41. A first label 24 is sucked and held by the suction head so that its adhering surface faces front. A work piece holding table 7 holds a work piece on a stage 34. When an image of the first label 24 is photographed on a label suction pad 41, a displacement of a sucking position of the first label 24 is calculated in response to the attained image data. A suction drum 5 is turned only by a corrected angle Θ in reference to this amount of displacement and a stage height is corrected only by Y. A positional alignment between the first label and the work piece is carried out through a correcting rotation of the suction drum 5 and a change in height of a stage 34 and then an accurate labeling processing can be carried out.
