Abstract:
To suppress increase in leakage of a lubricant from a wedge space when a ladder frame made of an aluminum alloy is adopted.SOLUTION: A ladder frame 13 includes a cap portion 13a. A wedge space is formed between an inner peripheral surface of the cap portion 13a and a crank shaft 12 when the ladder frame 13 is mounted on a cylinder block 11. A manufacturing method of the ladder frame 13 includes a first process and second process mentioned below. In the first process, there is measured a displacement amount of a circumferential end of the inner peripheral surface of the cap portion of a specimen before and after the mounting of the specimen of the ladder frame 13 made of an aluminum alloy on the cylinder block 11. In the second process, rigidity of the ladder frame 13 is adjusted on the basis of the displacement amount measured in the first process so that the size of the wedge space becomes a specified value in mounting the ladder frame 13 on the cylinder block 11 in forming the ladder frame 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
