Title:
LAMINAR FLOW CONTROL SKIN FOR AIRCRAFT AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07108996
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent holes from being plugged with dirt by providing each' layer with numerous holes regularly so as to be continuous from the surface layer to the inner layer, and making the thickness of each layer and the diameter of the holes gradually larger from the surface layer to the inner layer.

CONSTITUTION: The upper part of a wing is formed of the skin 1, a structure part 6, an inner surface plate 7 and a duct 8. In the wing, the turbulent layer of the upper face is sucked from holes by actuating a suction pump. The sucked air is sucked into the duct 8 through the holes of each layer of the skin 1. At this time, the total pressure loss is small, and the holes are prevented from being plugged with dirt in the air. The air sucked into the duct 8 is discharged into the atmospheric air through the suction pump. Laminar flow control is attained by a series of action of sucking the turbulent layer and discharging it into the atmosphere.
