PURPOSE: To provide a laminated polyester film improved in coating properties, film forming properties and shaving resistance, suppressing roll contamination due to drying of a roll especially when a primer coating agent is applied by a roll coater and having no defect caused by roll contamination.

CONSTITUTION: A laminated polyester film is produced by coating at least one surface of a polyester film with an aq. soln. of a primer compsn. containing 10wt.% or more of a polyester resin consisting of a dicarboxylic acid component occupied by 70mol% or more of aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and/or alicyclic dicarboxylic acid and a dihydroxy compd. component and having a secondary transition point of 20°C or lower and drying the coated film to stretch the same.
