Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make an electrostrictive effective element thin by a method wherein an isulating layer which insulates only the exposed end face of the inner electrode exposed at the side end face of the element and an electrstrictive material around the exposed end face concerned is formed of polyimide resin provided with a specific repeating unit and insulating filler. CONSTITUTION:An insulating layer 3 which insulates only the exposed end face of an inner electrode 2 exposed at the side end face of an element and an electrostrictive material around the exposed end face concerned is formed of polyimide resin provided with a specific repeating unit represented by a formula I and insulating filler. In the formula I, X denotes a tetravalent group selected from a group composed of polyphenyl groups formed combining at least one of a phenyl group and a biphenyl group with at least one of O, CO, S, Ch2, C(CH3)2, and C(CF3)2, and Y denotes a bivalent group selected from a group composed of a polyphenyl group, an alkylene group, and a xylylene group formed combining at least one of a phenyl group and a biphenyl group with at least one of O, CO, S, SO2, CH2, C(CH3)2, and C(CF3)2. By this setup, an electrostrictive effect element can be formed into a thin type.
