PURPOSE: To obtain a non-bulky laminated web having a thickness convenient for storage and transportation by impregnating woven fabric such as pile fabric with a soluble sizing agent, laminating a thermoplastic film to one side of the fabric, and hot-pressing the laminate to cure and thermally bond the laminate.
CONSTITUTION: The method for producing the laminated web comprises homogeneously impregnating nonwoven fabric, knit fabric, thick cloth, especially pile woven fabric with a soluble sizing agent solution, laminating a thermoplastic film of polyethylene terephthalate to the web and subsequently hot-pressing the laminate product to obtain the thin and non-bulky laminated web cured in the compressed state and having the heat-bonded film. When the laminated web is immersed in warm water, the thermoplastic film is peeled off and the sizing agent is washed off. Thereby, the laminated web can be recovered into the original puffy web, is extremely convenient and can easily be handled.
