Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the laser beam guide device which can realize exact alignment by connecting a front end fiber and a fiber part by split sleeves and is optimum for an intraocular surgery device used for the operation of the cataract, etc.

CONSTITUTION: The fiber part 5 is so formed that the light from a laser beam source of the wavelength corresponding to the absorption peak of water is introduced to a hand piece 2. A first terminal for connection is formed at the end of the fiber part 5 and a second terminal for connection is formed at the connecting end of the front end fiber 4 connected to the fiber part 5. The split fibers 62 are connected to the first terminal and the second terminal in order to exactly align the fiber part 5 and the front end fiber 4 consisting of an anhydrous quartz fiber. Further, the hand piece 2 is constituted separably to the front end and the body part. The split sleeves 62 play the function to protect the end face of the fiber part 5 when the front end and the body part are separated.
