To weld superimposed works by forming a clearance between the superimposed works without using an insert material.
A positioning mechanism 16 is composed of a plate-like tool 56 incorporated into a board 54, and a tool 60 incorporated into the side face of the tool 56 approximately parallel interposing a slim member 58 with a prescribed interval. The triangular-shaped tool 56 is formed with a tip 62 at the connection part of an inclined face 56b and an inclined face 56c adjacent to both ends of the upper face 56a incorporated into the lower face of the board 54. A tool 60, whose shape is approximately similar to that of the tool 56, interposes a shim member 64 between the lower face of the board 54 and the upper face 60a, is formed with a tip 66 at the connection part of an inclined face 60b and an inclined face 60c, and is incorporated into the tool 56 together with the shim member 58. The difference 13 between the length 11 of the tip 62 and the length 13 of the tip 66 is set to be the length obtained by summing the plate thickness T2 of the upper work W2 and the clearance H between the lower work W1 and the upper work W2 through which a zinc gas can escape.
