Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a laser device from which circularly polarized laser light for machining can be obtained without requiring any complicated optical system for circularly polarizing linearly polarized light outputted from a laser device having a waveguide-like laser light transmitting passage composed of parallel planar electrodes in a laser resonator.

CONSTITUTION: Since parallel planar electrodes in a gas laser oscillator 20 are inclined against the ground surface by 45°, the laser light outputted from the oscillator 20 becomes linearly polarized laser light inclined against the ground surface by 45°. Therefore, when the laser light is directly made incident to a circularly polarizing mirror 25, circularly polarized laser light Which can be utilized for machining can be obtained. Therefore, a laser device which can output linearly polarized laser light which is inclined against the ground surface by 45° without using any special optical system for circularly polarizing the linearly polarized laser light, but only directly making the linearly polarized laser light incident to the circularly polarizing means can be obtained.
