Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the large-area screen for displaying laser images having highly reliable nonlinear optical characteristic, such as thermal stability, by forming a pi electron conjugation system org. compd. of a compd. having donor and acceptor type substituents. CONSTITUTION:The soln. of the nonlinear optical material compsn. is penetrated in or applied on a substrate 1 and the org. compd. exhibiting the nonlinear optical characteristics is dried and deposited in a fine crystal state or the kneaded and dispersed nonlinear optical material compsn. is applied or printed and is immobilized by drying to provide a compsn. layer 2. The org. compd. is made of the compsn. consisting of at least >=1 kinds of the pi electron conjugation system org. compds. having the donor and acceptor type substituents and the org. compd. which can be uniformly mixed therewith by melting or dissolving. The screen for displaying laser images which has the excellent nonlinear optical characteristics, is less optical damages, is thermally stable and further allows the easy formation of the thin film is obtd. in this way.
