Title:
LASER RADAR DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3642227
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the service life of a laser diode and to save power consumption by stopping laser emission in the case of the undetected state of a preceding vehicle continuing up to the stop of its own vehicle when the preceding vehicle is put in the undetectable state after detecting the state of its own vehicle reducing speed and approaching the preceding vehicle.
SOLUTION: This laser radar distance measuring device 10 irradiates pulse-like laser beams every specified time and measures vehicle-to-vehicle distance to a preceding vehicle from the time required until receiving reflected light. An informing device 30 informs a driver of its own vehicle of the start of the preceding vehicle by means of a buzzer or the like, and its own vehicle speed detecting device 40 outputs pulse signals corresponding to the speed of its own vehicle. A processing part 20 composed of a microcomputer executes processing contents and controls the informing device 30. Laser emission is stopped in the case of the undetected state of the preceding vehicle continuing up to the stop of its own vehicle when the preceding vehicle is put in the undetected state after the laser radar distance measuring device 20 and its own vehicle speed detecting device 40 detects the state of its own vehicle reducing speed and approaching the preceding vehicle. Laser emission is resumed after the start of its own vehicle.
