Title:
LASER RADAR SYSTEM FOR ATMOSPHERIC MEASUREMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005077347
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a laser radar system for atmospheric measurement which measures greenhouse gases in the atmosphere with high precision.

The laser radar system is installed in an aircraft 7. Laser light is scanned with respect to the greenhouse gases 1 in the atmosphere while being moved in the direction of the arrow Y. The measuring method uses the long-path absorption laser radar method in which reflected light reflected by the earth's surface as a feature target, is received by an optical receiver, to measure the concentrations of the atmospheric components between a laser light source and the feature. Since the greenhouse gases selectively absorb lights of particular wavelengths, laser light of absorption wavelengths (ON wavelengths) and laser laser light of adjacent non-absorption wavelengths (OFF wavelengths) are simultaneously irradiated to the atmosphere, to measure and determine the ratio between the intensities of both, after passing through the atmosphere and to measure the concentrations of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
