PURPOSE: To provide a later recording method and a laser recorder in which a flush light corresponding to the erasing temperature of a thermal recording material is emitted to a predetermined area separately from a laser beam for recording a reversible thermal recording medium and the image is erased.

CONSTITUTION: A flush light 41 is emitted to an erasing image in a predetermined range of a reversible thermal recording medium 1 containing a light absorbing thermal converting material to erase it. At the time of recording, in order to record the image via the laser beam 31 intensity modulated corresponding to the recording temperature at the time of recording; the emitting energy amount and the light intensity distribution of the recording laser beam can be regulated to match the arriving temperature of recording or erasing, and the erasing time is shortened. Excellent visible image can be formed.
