This microscope is equipped with a pulse laser device 210 which outputs pulse laser beam of specific frequency and a photomultiplier 280 which detects and converts light emitted by a sample 5 when the sample 5 is scanned with the laser beam into an electric signal, and uses a lock-in amplifier 90 to output only a signal 94a, corresponding to the frequency component of the laser beam, of the output signal 280a of the photomultiplier 280.
