Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an image of high quality even if an f-θ lens varies in characteristics owing to environmental changes.
CONSTITUTION: Laser scanning position detecting means 8a and 8b measure the scanning time t i between two points and a control part controls the rotating speed of a polygon mirror 3 so that the scanning speed becomes constant. Further, the rotating speed of a polygon mirror 3 may be controlled according to the detected pulse width of a laser scanning position detecting means 8a, environmental temperature, and the width of a toner image.
