Title:
LATENT HEAT STORING DEVICE AND MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS57137379
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
In a latent heat storage device consisting of a storage vessel and a filling comprising an incongruently melting salt hydrate (for example: Na2HPO4 x 12H2O), the salt hydrate is accommodated in a matrix of a synthetic organic polymer having an open-celled foam structure (for example: polyurethane foam). This prevents the settling out of higher-melting salt hydrates and the gradual deactivation of the storage composition. Such a storage device can be manufactured by foaming out a storage vessel with a synthetic organic polymer which forms an open-celled foam under the reaction conditions, hardening the foam, and introducing a molten salt hydrate as storage medium into the foamed-out storage vessel.
