Title:
LATENTLY CRIMPING RAW SILK AND ITS PRODUCTION, AND CRIMPING SILK YARN OBTAINED FROM THE LATENTLY CRIMPING SILK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3723949
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a latently crimping raw silk maintained in seizability, excellent in elasticity and bulkiness, and useful for knitting fabric industry, etc., by immersing raw silk in a solution containing an enzyme having a protein- decomposing action, etc., and subsequently treating the immersed silk under specific conditions.
SOLUTION: Raw silk fibers are immersed in a solution containing a protease such as amylase and a surfactant, and the swollen and water-saturated raw silk fibers are immersed in a treating agent for smoothing and softening the silk fibers and preventing the mutual adhesion of the silk fibers so as to maintain a residual sericin content of ≥40%. The treated raw silk fibers are, if necessary, doubled, etc., to give a prescribed fineness. The treated silk fibers are imparted with a substantially non-twisted latently crimping property by a strongly twisting-high humidity high pressure wet thermal set-untwisting method, and finally subjected to an after-set treatment at approximately 70-80°C to provide the latently crimping silk yarn maintaining the seizability in a dry air state until being converted into an elastic bulky yarn.
