Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latex and a sheet-like material made therefrom and having good film properties.
SOLUTION: There are provided a latex obtained by polymerizing a polymerizable monomer having active methylene in the presence of a hydrophilic polymer having monomer units derived from isoprenesulfonic acid or its salt and a sheet-like material composed of a support and at least one hydrophilic colloid layer disposed thereon, wherein the above latex having active methylene and polymerized in the presence of a hydrophilic polymer constitutes 1-40 wt.% of the binder in the hydrophilic colloid layer.
