To provide a laundry dryer for commercial use, capable of reducing energy consumption, and shortening drying time by reducing energy consumption of the laundry dryer, or specifically by improving drying efficiency in drying the laundry in which drying air temperature cannot be very high, and in a final stage of drying.
The device includes a rotary drum 2 with air-permeable circumferential walls, which is rotatable around a horizontal axis in an outer drum 1, an exhaust fan 3, and a heater 4. Air taken from an intake port 11 is heated by the heater 4 to flow through the rotary drum 2 in the diameter direction. Bypass flow passages 5a and 5b are provided to take in heated air after passing the heater 4 from the outer side of the rotary drum 2 to be blown at high speed to the laundry S falling in the rotary drum 2. On the bypass passages 5a and 5b, a bypass fan 6 is provided to be controlled separately from the exhaust fan 3.
