To reduce the carrying and moving operations of work clothes, to reduce personnels needed for monitoring and operations, to save manpower and to effectively utilize the installation space of a device.
This device is composed of a laundry monitor 1 and a folding machine 2. The laundry monitor 1 is provided with a monitoring conveyor 5 for mounting and moving the measurement object 4 of the work clothes, plural radiation detectors 6 inside the conveyor 5, an operation panel 8 near the conveyor 5, a read out control panel 9 and a microcomputer 10, etc. The folding machine 2 is provided with a sorting conveyor 15, plural moving conveyors, a clothes pressing mechanism, a clothes process congestion preventing mechanism, a clothes kind selecting mechanism and a clothes piling-up mechanism. Washed and dried work clothes are processed and sorted by the operation panel 8 of the laundry monitor 1. Defective items are sorted by the folding machine 2 by signals from the side of the monitor 1. Folded work clothes are automatically piled up and small clothes are dropped in a small article receiving wagon 21.
