Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display unit for achieving thinning and cost reduction by preventing electric field leakage from a fluorescent lamp cable through the use of an extremely thin and inexpensive leakage electric field preventing sheet without providing a shield member as in a conventional manner.
SOLUTION: A fluorescent lamp cable 4 for supplying high voltage to a fluorescent lamp in a liquid crystal display panel 1 is extended from the side surface of the liquid crystal display panel 1 to the side of a conductive non- display surface (a conductive board 1b). The middle part of the cable is held by each notched part 2a of a leakage electric field preventing sheet 2 and then brought into contact with the conductive non-display surface (conductive board 1b) of the liquid crystal display panel 1. Grounding is attained at the contact part so that a low frequency leakage electric field generated from the lamp cable 4 is prevented.
