Abstract:
To provide an LED chip which realizes an LED element achieving excellent luminous efficiency.
In an LED chip, recessed parts 103 and flat parts alternately exist in a side surface end part. More specifically, in the LED chip, an LED pattern is formed on a surface of a sapphire substrate, and the recessed parts 103 and the flat parts alternately exist in the LED pattern formation surface side end part on the side surface. In each recessed part 103, a conical hole may be divided into two parts.
