Abstract:
To provide an LED device capable of properly detecting a malfunction of an LED body without cutting off light emitted from the LED body.
An LED device comprises an LED body 2 composed of a light-emitting body 3, an electrode 4 energizing the light emitting body 3, and a lens for concentrating light emitted from the light-emitting body 3 to irradiate, a plurality of light detecting members 12 detecting light leaking from a side surface of the LED body 2, and a malfunction determining section 13 determining whether the LED body 2 breaks down or not on the basis of detection signals from the light detecting members 12.
