To provide a length adjustable sports pole, a linking mechanism and a method for using the length adjustable sports pole.
A length adjustable sports pole 1 has a first pole 10, a second pole 20 housed in the first pole so as to freely slide, and lock assemblies 100 and 200 for holding the first and second poles so as to mutually release at prescribed positions. The lock assembly for linking the first and second poles so as to mutually release them has an elastic lock element 160 formed while being extended around the outer section of the second pole 20 in contact with that section and a collar 130 movably linked to the first pole 10 so as to move between lock and release positions. The elastic lock element is extended around the second pole 20 within a plane across the axial line of the pole, and the elastic lock element is formed so as to be expanded when it is attached to the second pole 20.
