To provide a lightweight and compact lens barrel with a built-in annular light source, and to make a bright field/dark field freely changeable with one lens barrel.SOLUTION: A lens barrel with a built-in annular light source is provided in which a first lens group 3, an annular light source 2, a second lens group 4, and a beam splitter 5 are arranged from an objective side in this order, a coaxial light source insertion port 6 is provided in a lateral face of the beam splitter 5, the annular light source 2 is composed of: an annular LED module 13 in which a plurality of LED modules are arranged in a line state on a concentric circle on a substrate 18; reflection walls 14 and 15 made of white resin and partitioning an outer periphery and inner periphery of the annular LED module; and a transparent wall 16 made of transparent resin and partitioning an RGB light emitting unit 11 and a W light emitting unit 12, wherein the RGB light emitting unit 11 is composed of a red LED, green LED and blue LED covered by a transparent resin layer, and the W light emitting unit 12 is adjacent to the RGB light emitting unit and is composed of a white LED covered by a resin layer including a phosphor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
