To provide a system and a program for diagnosing a lens device which eliminate a need of providing a TV lens with a self-diagnosing substrate for exclusive use to inexpensively realize diagnosis of the TV lens by connecting a personal computer to the TV lens and diagnosing the TV lens on the personal computer by communication with the TV lens, and diagnose an ENG lens also, and to provide a recording medium.

A personal computer 16 is connected to a lens 10 by an RS232C interface, and a program of a FIND system preliminarily installed in the personal computer 16 is started. The FIND system allows selection of a diagnostic mode for diagnosing the lens 10, a PC control mode for controlling the lens 10, etc., and the lens 10 is diagnosed by the personal computer 16 when the diagnostic mode is selected.
