To utilize the conventional lens producing method and producing device so as to produce a lens by which various kinds of astigmatism are generated by forming non rotationally symmetric curved surfaces for generating the astigmatism on both surfaces of the lens.
Lens forming surfaces 21A and 22A different from those of the conventional lens producing device are provided at the inner ends of two metallic molds 21 and 22. The curved surfaces which are not rotationally symmetric are formed on both surfaces of the lens by the surfaces 21A and 22A. By changing the rotational angles 1 and 2 of the molds 21 and 22, an angle Δ2 formed by two astigmatism vectors W1 and W2 is adjusted, whereby the size W of the astigmatism vector W is adjusted. By changing the rotational angles 1 and 2 of the molds 21 and 22, the direction 2 of the astigmatism vector W is adjusted.
