To provide lenses for an LED light source and a lens array capable of setting a main emitting direction of emitted light in a direction different from a direction of an optical axis and avoiding limitations for an arrangement/support space and designs to the utmost in forming an optical system by assembling an optical unit.
The lens 1 for an LED light source is set up to be a columnar section 7 which becomes a columnar shape having a light-incident surface and a light-emitting surface at opposite positions, wherein a light-emitting surface side from a designated location in the longitudinal direction becomes a columnar shape having a constant diameter, and a light-incident surface side is set up to be a partial columnar section 8 made from a partial columnar shape wherein a column gradually narrowing its diameter on a light-incident surface side toward the light incident surface is cut and removed on a plane not containing a center axis along the center axis along the longitudinal direction. Further, a lens array is formed by integrating the plurality of lenses 1 for an LED light source at suitable intervals, in suitable directions and at a suitable rotating positions via a coupling section.
