To provide a letter opener normally having a structure used as a letter opener and capable of being used as a cutter by moving an operational part.
The letter opener has an opening provided on a side face of a main body and a cutting blade formed to move and protrude from the opening to the outside of the opening so as to be used as a cutter. The letter opener comprises the main body, the freely turnable operational part, the cutting blade having one end provided with a blade and the other end engaged with the operational part, and an elastic body made of a spring applying force to the operational part. A groove and the opening are provided on the side face of the main body so that the cutting blade is located on the bottom part of the groove used as the letter opener, and the cutting blade is projected from the opening by turning the operational part so that the cutting blade is used as the cutter.
