Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately control the paving thickness of an upper layer of paving material leveled by a rear leveling machine.
SOLUTION: A front leveling machine 8 is suspended between spreading screws 5, 7 by supporting the arm 21a of a frame 21 against a leveling arm 14 at a pivot 23 and coupling the front of the frame 21 to the leveling arm 14 by means of a turnbuckle 24. A rear leveling device 9 is suspended at the rear of the rear spreading screw 7 by supporting the front of the frame 21 on a pivot 43 and coupling the upper part of the frame 41 to the rear end of the leveling arm 14 by means of a turnbuckle 44. During a paving operation, the leveling devices 8, 9 move up and down about a pivot 27 without changing in difference in height between them, thus keeping constant the paving thickness of an upper layer of paving material.
