Abstract:

To provide a LiCoO2 particulate material in which the shapes of the particulate material are uniform as a whole in a certain direction, a method of manufacturing the LiCoO2 particulate material, and a secondary battery using the LiCoO2 particulate material as a positive-electrode active material.

A LiCoO2 particulate material includes a wire-shaped material and has a major peak equivalent to a (104) surface, based on XRD measurement. The method of manufacturing the LiCoO2 particulate material includes: a step of preparing wire-shaped Co-containing precursor particulates; a step of bringing a Li source into contact with the wire-shaped Co-containing precursor particulates in flux and forming the LiCoO2 particulate material containing a wire-shaped material; and a step of isolating and obtaining the resultant LiCoO2 particulate material from the other components. A secondary battery uses the LiCoO2 particulate material as a positive-electrode active material.
