PURPOSE: To apply a lid while excluding air by providing a rod-shaped part to the air impermeable lid applied to the mouth of an air impermeable beverage preserving container so as to thrust the same into the container when the lid is applied to the container.

CONSTITUTION: A rod-shaped part 4 of which the outer diameter is slightly smaller than the caliber of a container mouth 3 is provided to a lid 2 so as to be thrust in a beverage preserving container 1 when the lid 2 is applied to the container mouth 3. The rod-shaped part 4 is closed at the leading end part thereof and the root part thereof has the hollow part 5 communicating with the outer surface of the lid 2 so that a sterilizing lamp A can be inserted in the hollow part 5. When sterilization is performed by other method, the rod-shaped part 4 may be constituted of a solid element. When the hollow part 5 is provided to the rod-shaped part 4, a transparent synthetic resin and other material easy to transmit ultraviolet rays are used. When the lid is applied to the beverage preserving container after the container is filled with a beverage up to the container mouth, the lid is applied while a part of the beverage overflows by the insertion of the rod-shaped part. Therefore, air can be expelled from the beverage preserving container and the spoilage of the beverage in the container can be delayed.
