To provide a lid material so arranged that it does not cause occurrence of a bubbling phenomenon that is easy to take place at the time heat-sealing is made with a lid material which is made of a layered structure composed of paper whose both side faces are laminated with plastic films or aluminum foils, etc.

The lid material (10) is the one heat-sealed with a cup-state container which has at least a resin layer formed on its surface, and is so arranged that, in the lid material wherein paper is used as an intermediate layer (11) and which is made of a composite sheet having resin layers or aluminum foil layers on the paper's both right side surface (12) and back side surface (13), the air permeability of the paper (11) stands at 10 seconds or lower by the testing method of JIS P8117. The composition of the layers of the composite sheet (10) is preferably of PET/paper/PET/polyolefin base heat seal resin.
