To enable a person riding on a simple lift without guide rail to drive the lift by himself/herself solving the problem that the person can not drive the lift by changing the lift into structure incorporated with an operation cable inside a rope or wire for suspension.

In the lift for suspending a riding suspension stage or a riding basket 1 with a rope or wire 4 and winding up/unwinding this rope or wire with a wind-up drum 3, an operating cable 5 is built in or rolled in the rope or wire 4 and integrated so that both the rope or wire and the cable can be simultaneously wound up and unwound around the wind-up drum 3. Thus, in such a lift, the person riding on the riding suspension stage or riding basket 1 can operate a motor 10 for wind-up via the operating cable 5 by an operating switch 12 or the like, can stop the motor 10 for wind-up by transmitting the operation of an upper limit switch 13 or lower limit switch 14 to the operating cable 5 or can transmit a call in the case of emergency via the operating cable 5 to the outside as well.
