To provide a lifting load detector for a load lifting work by use of a power shovel, which can detect a precise lifting load, has no fear of damage in excavating work, and dispenses with the attaching and detaching work of a signal cable in switching the work.

This detector comprises a load hanging hook 18 mounted on the arm tip of the power shovel; a load detector 17 and transmitter 38 provided on the mount part of the load hanging hook; a receiving antenna 21 provided on controller side; and signal cables 10 and 11 for connecting an arm angle detector and a boom angle detector to controllers, respectively. The receiving antenna 21 is preferably provided on the base end side of an arm 3 or the tip side of a boom 2, and connected to a controller 5 through an antenna cable 22.
