Title:
LIGHT ATTENUATABLE OPTICAL FIBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3209497
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the influence of the clad mode which occurs at the connec tion.
SOLUTION: This light attenuatable optical fiber consists of a core 1 and a clad which encloses this core 1 and has the refractive index lower than the refractive index of the core near the core 1. The clad has an inner clad 2 and a low-refractive index part 4 which is disposed on the outer side of this inner clad and has the refractive index smaller than the refractive index of the inner clad. The fiber contains a dopant to attenuate light signals in part or the whole of the core 1 and the inner clad 2.
