To solve a problem that, generally, a globe of a self-ballasted compact fluorescent lamp in a shape covering a plurality of discharge tubes with it is of a spherical shape, so unstable to be rolling, falling and breaking when it is placed on a flat face such as a desk, and, especially, in replacing the self-ballasted compact fluorescent lamp, the self-ballasted compact fluorescent lamp removed from a lighting fixture has to be temporarily kept in a stable state.

A plane face part 2 or a concave face part is provided at a part or a plurality of parts of the globe surface of the self-ballasted compact fluorescent lamp of a shape covering the discharge tube with the globe. By making the globe surface in such a structure, the lamp can be prevented from rolling and being damaged in the case the lamp is placed in a stable state before an operation of fitting the lamp to the lighting fixture, after an operation of removing it from the lighting fixture, or the like.
