Abstract:
To improve performance of a light detection device.SOLUTION: A light detection device 10 comprises: a tabular photoelectric surface 12 which emits electrons by making light incident thereto; a tabular anode 15 which is disposed so as to be opposed with the photoelectric surface 12; a power source 18 for generating an electric field between the photoelectric surface 12 and the anode 15; a gas chamber 13 into which a gas for amplifying electrons moving in the electric field is introduced with the electrons emitted from the photoelectric surface 12 defined as a trigger; n insulator 14 which is provided between the gas chamber 13 and the anode 15; and a signal electrode 16 for reading electric charge which is induced by the electrons amplified in the electric field, as a signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
