Title:
LIGHT DIFFUSION REFLECTION SHEET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11337710
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To make it possible to obtain a high reflectivity even when a light diffraction reflection sheet is adhered and applied via an adhesive layer, etc., to a liquid crystal display device, etc., while taking advantage of the high light diffusivity of reflected light by providing the surface of aluminum foil having fine cracks on its surface with a reflection layer consisting of a vapor deposited metallic film via the adhesive layer embedding these cracks.

The resin layer 2 is smoothed or leveled off on its surface to embed the fine cracks 11 of the aluminum foil 1. As a result, the recessed parts of the large angle of inclination in the fine cracks 11 of the aluminum foil 1 which generate a light trap effect by total reflection are selectively embedded. The cracks 11 or the cracked portions are, thereupon, embedded with the resin layer 2 and the surface thereof is smoothed, by which the effective reflection area is increased and the effective reflectivity, i.e. the quantity of the reflected light emitted from the adhesive layer, etc., disposed on the light scattering reflection sheet is improved. The cracks 11 or cracked portions which are small in the average angle of inclination and are nearly plane in the angle of inclination are left in the state that these portions are not embedded by the resin layer 2, by which the diffusion of the reflected light is made possible.
