In the light emission tube array type display device which has a light emission tube array, constituted by apposing a plurality of light emission tubes 31, 31, ..., and held between an address electrode sheet 33 where an address electrode 32 is formed and a display electrode sheet 35 where a display electrode 34 is formed, each light emission tube 31 has a longitudinally long flat cross section orthogonal to a length direction with a long-diameter side set longitudinally, and the plurality of light emission tubes 31, 31, ..., are arrayed in such a way that the long diameter-side tube walls thereof are adjacent to one another.
