In the light emitting device 1 having a flexible flat cable 10 on which a plurality of light emitting diodes 24a, 24b and 24c are mounted, at least a pair of conductors 11a, 11b are arranged on the flat cable 10 in the longitudinal direction, and the plurality of light emitting diodes 24a, 24b and 24c are connected between the pair of conductors 11a, 11b so that the direction of polarity of each diode is alternately different. Since conductor cut portions 13a, 13b and 13c are formed in the conductor 11a, 11b, the plurality of light emitting diodes 24a, 24b and 24c are connected in serial so that each light emitting diode is subject to forward bias.
