Abstract:
To prevent deep ultraviolet light directed from a light emitting element toward the side surface from being emitted from a lower end portion of a dome-shaped cover member.SOLUTION: A light emitting device 10 includes a substrate 3 on which an electrode for power supply is formed, a light emitting element 1 mounted on the substrate 3 and emitting deep ultraviolet light, and a dome-shaped cover member 2 whose outer peripheral edge is fixed to the substrate 3 and covers a space S including the light emitting element 1 in an airtight state. The cover member 2 includes a light-shielding portion 8 that blocks deep ultraviolet light emitted from the light emitting element 1 at least in a part around the end portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
