PURPOSE: To obtain a light shielding blade which is small in operating capacity, has excellent durability and operates smootgly at a high speed, by sandwiching an intermediate layer of small apparent specific gravity with front and rear layers having high specific modulus of elasticity, and changing the lengths of the respective layers so as to make the number of superposed layers less the further from the coupling position with a driving member.
CONSTITUTION: Front layers 1W rear layers 3 are superposed near mounting holes 4, 5 but there are no rear layers near the center which consists of only the layer 1 and the intermediate layer 2. Further a preceding end part 1a is constituted of only the layer 1. The layer 1 is required to have excellent resistance to abrasion and light shieldability and high Young's modulues as well as to be small in specific gravity. For example, ceramics or the like are used adequately. The internediate layer 2 may be of plastics or the like as far as these materials are small in specific gravity. Since the layer 3 is preferred to have resistance to abrasion and small specific gravity, ceramics, metals, etc. are used for the same.
