Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable the use of a compressive actuator in an automatic machine or in special environment, by controlling the pressure in a soft bag to alter the distance between points X-Y. CONSTITUTION:Two notches E are provided in a cylindrical soft film and bonded to each other. Both the ends of the cylindrical film are closed. A pipe A is attached to the film. When the pressure inside the film is altered, the distance between points X-Y is gradually altered. The position of an actuator is thus controlled depending on the pressure therein. The weight of the operating portion of the actuator is low. Since the actuator has no frictional portion, no lubricant is needed therefore and no fluid leak no contact surfaces occurs. For that reason, the actuator can be used in an automatic machine or in special environment.
