To provide a light source body and a lighting system capable of attaining energy saving and space saving by heightening heat dissipation performance while securing a sufficient quantity of light and illuminance and attaining a long service life.
In this light source body 3 equipped with a substrate 23 on the surface of which a plurality of light emitting elements 22 are arranged, a frame 24 to hold the substrate 23 with its surface side opened, and a wire 26 to supply power to the light emitting elements 22, an electrode terminal 30 for connecting the wire 26 is provided at either one side end part of both side end parts and at at least one spot between the both side ends, on the back of the substrate 23, and a wiring space 31 to house the wire 26 to the electrode terminal 30 is provided between the substrate 23 and the frame 24.
