To provide a light source device with which efficiency and the uniformity of emitted light are improved without increasing the size of the entire device.SOLUTION: The light source device comprises: an excitation light source 10 including a semiconductor laser element 10a, for emitting excitation light of a first polarized state; a wavelength conversion member 13 for emitting reflected light and fluorescence; a dichroic mirror 14 for passing excitation light and reflected light of the first polarized state through and reflecting reflected light of a second polarized state and fluorescence, or reflecting excitation light and reflected light of the first polarized state and passing reflected light of the second polarized state different from the first polarized state and fluorescence through; a condensing lens 15 for condensing light heading from the dichroic mirror 14 toward the wavelength conversion member 13 onto the main plane of the wavelength conversion member 13; a reflection member 12 for reflecting reflected light of the first polarized state having been emitted from the dichroic mirror 14; and a light passage region 12b formed in some inside point of the reflection member 12 and in an outside point of the reflection member 12, for passing excitation light emitted from the excitation light source toward the dichroic mirror.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
