Abstract:
To provide a small-sized light source device.SOLUTION: A light source device of the present invention comprises: a light source unit that emits first light, second light, and third light; a first polarized light separation element that transmits the first light and second light and reflects the third light; a second polarized light separation element that transmits the first light and reflects the second light; a first retardation element; a first diffusion element that diffuses the third light; a second diffusion element that diffuses the second light; and a third diffusion element that diffuses the first light. The second polarized light separation element reflects the first light from the third diffusion element and transmits one part of the second light from the second diffusion element and reflects the other part. The first retardation element converts a polarization direction of the second light from the first polarized light separation element and converts a polarization direction of the other part of the second light from the second polarized light separation element. The first polarized light separation element transmits the third light from the first diffusion element and reflects the second light from the first retardation element.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
